Since Boston opened its first store in Madrid in 1945, it continuously grew as a chain until June 2021, which marks a historic milestone with the entry of the leader in children's fashion, Mayoral. With the acquisition of all the shares of the chain, Mayoral has carved out a niche in men's fashion, contributing financial muscle and know-how in the textile sector, backed by more than 8 decades of work.

The objective is to develop a strong commercial network of stores reaching 60 outlets by 2025 and to reposition the brand within the market by redesigning the collections, the chain's image, its digital presence and its store concept.

The Project

This new phase and Boston's ambitious objectives required a change of image to match its values. Our design team worked on the new store concept according to the client's briefing: bright stores, neutral colours, natural materials and soft shapes inspired by nature. They were looking for lightness, transparency and honesty.

"We created an enveloping space that would embrace the collection and transmit calm to the client", says Santi Costoya, Creative Director of KIMAK, " to do so, we worked with a combination of materials and timeless finishes such as oak wood, black metal, polished cement or torval finish in all the furniture".

A natural combination, like the brand's new philosophy: honest fashion and friendly spaces where it is important to feel at ease

and identify with the brand, something that can be seen from the outside thanks to its window displays that are open to the inside.

The turn-key process that we carry out in all Boston stores begins with the construction work, which our construction company CITANIAS executes from start to finish including the installation of the store storage and display furniture, which is entirely manufactured in KIMAK. A process that is completed within an average of 8 weeks from the initial phase of measurements and design, to the final delivery.

What began as a small store more than 75 years ago, has now become a major project for the future of which it is an honour to be a part of.

We were keen for the store to be visible from the outside and reflect the brand's philosophy of showing ourselves honestly."
