Mango's teenage line, Mango Teen, has developed a dreamlike universe for the opening of its new stores. The Valencian design and interior design studio, Masquespacio, has captured the dreams of adolescence and transformed them into surreal elements that generate an incoherent environment in which everything fits together.
After several months testing the concept through pop-up stores in different parts of Spain, Mango Teen has finally decided to open its first points of sale in Barcelona, and expects to roll out eleven stores before the end of 2022.
The in-store experience begins by passing through a tunnel of illuminated arches that transport you directly into the dimension of dreams. A reality, one of dreams, where everything is possible and the past and the future entwine and adapt to the teenagers' world of today.
The firm's new spaces enhance the experience through the use of technology and interaction with tactile and colourful elements to attract a public that is increasingly engaged in online shopping but values the sensory experience with brands in their physical spaces.
The design of the furniture challenges the usual shapes used in retail, mixing straight and organic lines that result in original elements. A hotel reception, a swimming pool with inverted stairs, a washing machine or mirrors that deform the image are some of the components of this unreal world that we have helped to build at KIMAK.
The materials and colours play one of the most important roles in this new concept of shop image: lacquered metals and woods, Formica, vinyls that cover floors and furniture, mirrors with different textures or even more innovative ones such as the dichroic vinyl that covers the walls and ceilings of the Metaspace fitting rooms (in allusion to the Metaverse). Matt and gloss finishes are mixed throughout the space with touches of fluorine, creating a combination that connects with a digital and futuristic world.
A universe in which we have brought all our experience in shop fitting, manufacturing furniture, providing finishes and wall and floor coverings for such important elements such as the fitting rooms and the checkout area. Mango Teen goes one step further to devirtualise shopping and give youngsters an unforgettable experience.
